Benefits of a Skill Toy Club
Prop Manipulation: Students will improve their hand-eye coordination, sense of balance, and other fine motor skills as they learn how to use each prop. Important science concepts such as balance, gravity, and gyroscopics will be used to support the process. Even if students do not master every prop, they will gain a better awareness of objects in motion.
21st Century Skills: The Partnership for 21st Century Skills has identified a number of skills that today’s students will need to be prepared for the ever changing workplace. Skill toy workshops are structured to foster creativity/innovation skills, critical thinking/problem solving skills, and communication/ collaboration skills.
Character Development: The process of learning and performing new skills individually and in teams will foster important character traits such as respect, perseverance, courage, and self-discipline.
